Former Director of Project Management at <\/b>MRM<\/b><\/a>, an award-winning agency part of IPG, <\/b>Shantal Gonzalez<\/b><\/a>, shares how she\u2019s gone from no boundaries to pushing back as work-life balance grows increasingly important.<\/b><\/p>\n

Shantal Gonzalez always knew what she wanted to do for a living, pretty much since she was five years old.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cI was just one of those unicorns that I kind of knew what I wanted to do when I was five. Or well, I had an <\/span>idea<\/span><\/i> of what I wanted to do with my life and I knew that I wanted to be in an area where I could be creative and build things. But, obviously, I didn\u2019t exactly know what that was gonna shape into because again, I was just five,\u201d she laughs.<\/span><\/p>\n

As she got older she was drawn to the arts and her family encouraged her to be an artist.<\/span><\/p>\n

But that didn\u2019t appeal to Gonzalez. She chuckles and says, \u201cWell, I didn\u2019t want to just \u2018survive\u2019 and live like a stereotypical starving artist. I wanted to build something different for myself while staying in a creative field.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

She continues, \u201cI asked myself what is my future going to look like? What profession could I be in? And then I heard about advertising.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n
